Now that we have known the editions that support the process of creating a cactus.
Let us now also consider the items that you will be needing successfully building a cactus in your gameplay.
You certainly would be needing various items for creating a cactus farm step by step.
The items required to create a cactus farm in Minecraft gameplay are;
- 4 sand
- 4 Cactuses
- 78 glass
- 4 nether brick walls
- 8 cobblestones
- 1 water bucket
- 6 hoppers
- 6 chests
So, these were the required items that you will be needing in the below given process.
Creating a cactus farm
- Add glass to build a structure
First of all, you will need to locate the area on your gameplay in Minecraft, where you need to build a cactus farm.
As you cannot simply build a cactus farm somewhere in between, you also need to confine the cactus farm in an area that is covered from all the four sides. Though you can also cover the farm from boundaries and blocks afterwards. But it is really good to build a cactus farm at some place that has a covered surface.
After that you have selected the surface, where you wish to build a cactus farm in Minecraft. You need to build a structure for making a cactus farm there.
Here, you need to build the structure by placing the glass blocks to create a structure that has length equal to that of 8 glass, width equal to that of 7 glass, and height equal to that of 3 glass.
- Place 8 glass blocks along the two opposite facing directions in three levels.
Hereby, you will cover the two faces of the structure.
- Place 7 glass blocks along the remaining two sides in three levels, in a way that it connects the other two sides as well to form a definite structure.
Here, you have covered the other two sides of the structures as well.
Thus, forming a definite structure that covers all the four sides, forming a rectangular three dimensional structure of length 8 glass blocks, width 7 glass blocks, and height 3 glass blocks.
- Digging the required area
Now that you have constructed the structure, you need to dig out the mud from the area that is adjacent to the side that has length of 8 glass blocks.
You need to select the area to be dug out from any side of the structure that has 8 lengths equal to that of 8 glass blocks.
After that you have considered the area for digging it out, you need to follow the steps given below:
- Dig out the area from the side that has length equal to that of 8 glass blocks. You need to clear the area such that it has a width of 6 blocks and length of 8 blocks.
Here, you have cleared the area from the side of the structure.
Now,moving onto the next step of the process of creating a cactus farm in Minecraft, we have placed the chests.
- Placing the chests
After digging out the area from the side of the structure that has a length of 8 glass. You now need to begin the process of placing cactus inside the structure that you have built in the above steps. So the another step in reaching the process of creating a cactus farm is to place the chests and hoppers inside the empty area that you have dug out in the last step.
- First of all place 6 chests inside the empty area alongside the edge that has a length of 8 glass blocks.
- Then place 6 hoppers on the respective 6 chests inside the empty area.
Here you have covered the side of the empty area that you dug out by using the chests.
- Adding water
Now that you have added chests and hoppers inside the dug out area, another step is to fill water inside the structure that we built in the first step by using the glass blocks.
Follow the below given steps for adding water inside the structure;
- Select the water bucket from the bar given below on your Minecraft screen.
- Move to the built glass block structure, where you will be planting the cactus.
- Add the water from the water bucket inside the glass block structure.
Here, you finish adding water to the structure that you have built.
- Add cobblestone
Now that you have filled water inside the structure that you have built in the above step, it’s time that you add the cobblestones on the water inside that structure.
These cobblestones will be the place where you will be placing the cactus plants in the below given steps.
Follow the simple steps given below for adding the cobblestones inside the structure;
- You need to place the cobblestone on the water, adjacent to one of the sides of the glass structure.
The cobblestone should be placed in such a way that it should not be at the end of the side, or at the middle of the side.
- Place the cobblestone by leaving two glass blocks from the end of that side.
After you have added the cobblestone at the last step. You need to cut the cobblestone that is lying close to the side of the glass structure.
- Break the cobblestone from the side of the structure.
Here, you have placed the cobblestone correctly on the water in Minecraft.
Now, you need to repeat the similar process for about three times more.
By placing three other cobblestones on the water inside the glass structure.
At the end you will have four cobblestones lying on the water inside the glass structure that we have built in the above process.
Here, you have successfully obtained four floating cobblestones.
- Adding cactus
In this step, you need to add cactus and sand on the cobblestone that we have placed inside the glass structure in the previous step.
Follow the steps given below for adding cactus on the cobblestone;
- Place the sand on the cobblestone by selecting the sand from inside the bar, present on the bottom of the Minecraft screen.
Follow this step for about three times more, so as to place the sand on the four cobblestones that you have added in the previous step.
Now that you have added the sand on the cobblestone, it’s time to add the cactus on the sand.
- Select the cactus from the below given bar, present on the Minecraft screen. Place the cactus on the sand that you have added before.
Similarly, place the three more cactuses in the sand inside the glass.
Here, you have finally placed the sand and then cactus on the cobblestone inside the glass structure.
- Separating the cactuses
Now, that you have added cactuses inside the glass structure or your future cactus farm. It’s time to separate the cactuses that you have added inside the glass structure.
Here, you need to place neither brick wall between the cactuses.
Follow the steps given below for adding the nether brick walls in between the cactuses placed inside the glass structure;
You cannot simply place the nether brick walls in between the cactuses.
So, you need to place the nether brick walls on top of the cactus first and then on the empty space in between the cactuses.
- Select the nether brick walk from the bar, present on the bottom of the Minecraft screen.
- Add the nether brick wall on the cactus that you have placed in the previous step.
- Now add the nether brick wall on the empty space lying between the two cactuses present inside the structure.
Thereafter, you need to break the nether brick walls that are lying on the cactuses. So that the nether brick walls that are lying on the empty space only remain.
- Break the nether brick walls that are on the cactus.
Here, you have successfully placed the nether brick walls on the empty space in between the cactuses on one side of the glass structure.
Repeat the same process that you have followed above to add the nether brick walls in between the cactuses on the other side as well.
In this way, you will separate the cactuses inside the glass structure by using the nether brick walls.
Here you have completed the process of creating a cactus farm in Minecraft.
Now, your cactus farm is all set to produce cactuses and fill up the requirements of your cactus needs in Minecraft gameplay.
Now that we have created a cactus farm in Minecraft, let us know the process of working of the cactus farms that you have created.
Working of Cactus
So let us get a look at the cactus farm’s working and see the result of the process that we have followed above.
Inside the glass structure, the cactus will grow on the sand that you have placed in there. As time pases, the cactus will also grow in length. The cactus leaves will fall into the water present below the structure, as they reach a certain length.
The broken cactus leaves will then fall into chests that you have placed alongside the length of the glass structure.
Thereby, you can collect the cactus leaves from inside the chests present in the empty space alongside the glass structure.
This way you will be able to get a regular supply of cactus from your cactus farm in Minecraft gameplay.
