  1. Taming a parrot

After you have successfully found the parrot in the Minecraft gameplay, the other step of the  process of riding it is to tame the required parrot. 

As we said earlier as well, the parrot that you find outside the settlement or farm in the  gameplay, is actually a wild one. 

Though it would not attack or harm you there as being a passive mob. But you do need to control him and make him a domestic animal or creature. 

So that it does follow your command and sits on your shoulder in your respective gameplay. 

If you do not tame a parrot, then you would not be able to have it on your shoulder. 

In order to tame a required parrot, you need to select any of the given seeds in your gameplay from  the bar, present on the bottom the screen in Minecraft. You can select a beetroot seed,or a seed, or a melon seed,or a pumpkin seed there. 

Once you get over a parrot in the gameplay, you will be able to control and pass on commands to it. Thereafter, you will be his master and the parrot will sit on your shoulder. 

For controlling the parrot, you do need to follow some different steps or gestures in your respective editions of Minecraft. As there are different sets of programming and algorithms in every single edition of Minecraft

The respective steps or gestures for taming a parrot in varying editions of Minecraft are;

Java Edition

For taming the required parrot in the Minecraft gameplay, you need to click on the right button of the mouse while pointing the plus sign arrow  at the parrot 

Pocket Edition

For taming the required parrot in the Pocket Edition edition of Minecraft, you need to tap on the tap on the parrot on your Minecraft screen. 

Xbox 360 and  Xbox One

For controlling the required parrot in the Xbox 360 and Xbox One editions of Minecraft, you need to press the LT  button on your  respective controllers while holding the plus sign arrow at the respective parrot on your Minecraft screen. 

PS3  and  PS4

You need to press the L2 button on your  respective controllers in PS3 and PS4 editions of Minecraft while holding the plus sign arrow  at the parrot, for controlling it . 

Wii U

You need to press the ZL button on your controller in the Wii U edition of Minecraft while holding the plus sign arrow at the parrot.

For taming the required parrot in the Windows 10 Edition edition of Minecraft, you need to click on the right button of the mouse while holding the arrow at the parrot on your  Minecraft screen.

Education Edition

You need to press the right button on your mouse in the Education Edition edition of  Minecraft while holding the plus sign arrow at the parrot, for controlling it.

As you perform the required steps, you will notice that the parrot is releasing the gray smoke above it’s head in the Minecraft gameplay

Thereafter, the parrot will stop relaxing the gray smoke after sometime and it will release  the hearts there. This  signifies that the parrot has been tamed.

Once the parrot has been tamed successfully, it will stop releasing the red  hearts there and will sit on your shoulder there.
