Smite is an enchantment that raises the player’s equipment level. They will gain additional stat boosts and other benefits as a result of this. There are five levels to the Smite Enchantment, with Smite I being the lowest and Smite V being the greatest. Smite Enchantment increases the player’s weapon’s attack strength. Smite in Minecraft
There is, however, a catch to this stat boost. Smite’s weapon attack increase only works when attacking the game’s undead foes, such as Zombies, Skeletons, or Drowned enemies. Normal foes will not benefit from the Minecraft Smite Enchantment attack enhancement.
Smite is a weapon enchantment, hence it only affects swords and axes. Smite increases the damage of a weapon by 2.5 (or 1.25 hearts) for each level it possesses, but only when battling an undead mob. Because there are so many of these in Minecraft, it’s usually not a bad compromise.
Smite in Minecraft
To put things in perspective, the Sharpness enchantment increases all damage by 1.5 every level, therefore Smite is clearly superior when it comes to dealing with the undead. This enchantment effects skeletons, zombies, zombie villagers, withers, wither skeletons, zombified piglins, skeleton horses, zombie horses, strays, husks, phantoms, drowned, and zoglins.
Prerequisites
Smite is a Minecraft enchantment that can be used on weapons. It can be used on a sword or an axe, for example. Crossbows and bow and arrows, for example, cannot be enchanted with Smite.
When a weapon with the enchantment is used to attack an ‘undead’ mob, Smite will do greater damage (all variations of Zombies, Skeletons, and Phantom).
To enchant a weapon, you’ll need the following items:
- Enchantment table
- Weapon to enchant ( Ex. Sword)
- 3 Lazuli Lapis (found by mining underground at level 32)
Enchantment Table
A crafting area consisting of a 3×3 crafting grid should be visible in the crafting menu. Place 1 book, 2 diamonds, and 4 obsidian in the 3×3 crafting grid to create an enchanting table.
It’s critical to arrange the book, gems, and obsidian in the exact pattern shown in the image below while creating an enchanted table. One book should be in the center box of the first row. There should be one diamond in the first box, one obsidian in the second box, and one diamond in the third box on the second row. Three obsidian should be placed in the third row. Three sheets of paper and one leather skin are required to make a book. Sugar cane is required to make paper (naturally occurring). You must kill a cow, horse, donkey, mule, or llama to obtain leather. Cows are more prone to shed a hide and can be discovered in greater numbers.
In the crafts table, place one paper in the first cell of the second row, one paper in the second cell of the second row, and one paper in the first cell of the last row. Place the leather hide in the third row’s second cell. Gather the book.
Lazuli Lapis
- Obtaining Ore
The only place to find lapis lazuli ore is in the Overworld, between Y level 30 and Y level 0. It is rarely exposed, making it more difficult to locate. Ravines are a wonderful site to look for Lapis because they increase the likelihood of it being discovered.
Lapis can also be found in mineshaft, shipwreck, and village temple chests, with shipwreck chests having the best chance of producing it.
- Buying and selling ore
If the player earns the “Hero of the Village” advancement, cleric villagers can present Lapis to the player while also selling one piece of Lapis for an emerald at the apprentice level.
- Mining Ore
A stone or a higher form of pickaxe can be used to mine for the ore Lapis Lazuli. The block will be broken but nothing will be dropped if you mine it with a wooden pickaxe or by hand.
Using Enchantments
You will then be taken to the Enchanting Screen, where you must first choose which weapon you want to Enchant with Smite, and then use a Lapis Lazuli to power the procedure. After that, you merely need to use the Smite Enchantment book to apply the unique abilities to your weapon.
You can enchant the weapon now that you have the enchantment table, the weapon, and the Lazuli Lapis.
- Place the Enchantment table where you want it.
- Select the table by clicking on it.
- Place the weapon in the left-hand block.
- In the right-hand block, place three lapis lazuli.
- Hover your mouse over the three enchantments in the three rows.
- Smite is the enchantment to choose.
- Gather the weapon. Smite isn’t charmed on it.
Smite Levels
As I previously stated, there are various Smite levels. Your overall damage is determined by your chosen weapon and enchantment.
To upscale a level of your weapon you will need to combine two enchanted books on an anvil in minecraft.
The anvil is another source of enchantments for your blade. It allows you to combine the effects of two different items. So, combine a regular sword and an enchanted book to create an enchanted blade.
You can also level up duplicate objects by combining them.
Smite & Sharpness
As a result, Smite transforms you into a zombie’s worst foe. Cool.
Although it won’t assist if you’re dealing with spiders or a Creeper. Is it possible that better sword enchantments exist?
One possibility occurs to me. In Minecraft, the argument between Sharpness and Smite is raging.
Let’s go over the major distinctions.
The selling point of sharpness is that it has an impact on everything. Every hit deals [0.5 * your level + 0.5] damage, regardless of who it is. As a result, it’s a wonderful overall – but not the best.
Smite excels at what it does. It increases undead mob damage by 2.5 every level, placing it significantly ahead.
It all depends on who you are and what you’re up against – Nothing will stop you from enchanting two weapons to obtain the finest results.
Sharpness is the better enchantment out of the two, even though it isn’t as effective as Smite because it deals less damage. Smite is exclusively effective against undead mobs. Other players, the Ender dragon, spiders, and other non-undead monsters are not affected by this enchantment.
General Use Case for Smite in Minecraft:
Any undead mon will take two regular blows to kill if you have a max level smite on our netherite or diamond sword, but if you land a critical hit, they will die in a single stroke. It’s simple to land a critical; simply land a punch while going down.
When you have to kill a lot of wither skeletons to summon the wither, the Enchantment comes in helpful. The job will be a lot easier with a max-level Smite blade, and you won’t have to grind for as long.
Farming for tridents is another useful application. When the drowned are killed, they have a small chance of dropping a Trident, therefore having a Smite sword will make the grind more enjoyable.
The smite enchantment is also useful for mob farms, as most mob farms demand you to personally kill all of the mobs, and skeletons and zombies spawn in high numbers most of the time. In such a case, the Smite sword comes in handy.
