Iron golems are formidable utility mobs that offer protection to villagers and players by defending them from hostile threats. While iron golems can naturally spawn within villages, players have the option to build their own by arranging blocks in a specific configuration. This feature is available across all versions of Minecraft, including Pocket Edition. Ensure your game is up to date to access this feature.

- Immunity: They cannot drown or be harmed by falling.

Items Required to Build an Iron Golem
To construct an iron golem, you will need the following materials:
Four Blocks of Iron
Iron blocks are crafted from iron ingots. You need nine ingots to make one iron block, so crafting four blocks requires a total of 36 ingots. Iron ingots are produced by smelting iron ore in a furnace with a fuel source. Iron ore is found underground and must be mined with a stone pickaxe or better.
One Carved Pumpkin or Jack O’Lantern

Carve a pumpkin using shears to get a carved pumpkin. Pumpkins are typically found in the plains, extreme hills, and other biomes, including sand and snow-covered areas. To create a jack o’lantern, place one carved pumpkin in the crafting menu’s middle box of the first row, and one torch in the middle box of the second row. To craft a torch, use one coal/charcoal and one stick in the crafting grid. You only need one of these items (either a carved pumpkin or a jack o’lantern) for the golem. How to Build an Iron Golem
- Collect the Required Items: Gather all necessary materials before starting.
- Arrange the Iron Blocks: Unlike most crafting recipes, building an iron golem doesn’t require a crafting table. Instead, place two iron blocks on top of each other on the ground to form the body of the golem.
- Add the Arms: Place the remaining two iron blocks on each side of the top iron block to form the golem’s arms.
- Attach the Head: Finally, place the carved pumpkin or jack o’lantern on top of the middle iron block to complete the golem’s head.
If no other blocks obstruct the process, the iron golem should spawn immediately. You can repeat this process to create multiple iron golems, allowing you to build an army of golems if desired. Enjoy building and defending with your new golems!
