Don’t worry if you need to fight the ender dragon again; there is a system in place that allows you to respawn the ender dragon. It’s fairly straightforward, and you can do it with a few components if you remember where your end portal was. The combat itself isn’t going to be easy, therefore be ready. To make the combat go faster, equip yourself with the greatest armor and weapons you can find, and consider employing potion buffs or golden apples. How to Respawn the Ender Dragon in Minecraft

When you first approach the End, you’ll come across the ender dragon, a massive flying hostile boss mob. She is the game’s largest naturally spawning mob and is commonly regarded as the game’s final boss.

A pale purple health bar emerges at the top of the player’s screen for the Ender Dragon. Nearby End crystals frequently restore her health, as seen by a mystical white beam connecting the dragon to the crystal. When you destroy an End crystal that is actively healing the dragon, she takes 10 damage.

The dragon can only be hurt by explosives and player-based damage, and every portion of her that isn’t her head takes (1/4 x regular damage + 1) damage. Suffocation isn’t an option because she either phases through or destroys whatever block she comes across.

All status effects have no effect on the dragon.

The dragon will never attack anything other than the player. When the dragon is struck, other mobs may become hostile. Any entities hit by her wings take 5 damage (or 10 damage if hit by her head) and are propelled into the air, often to dangerous heights or even off the island in Java Edition. After the dragon suffers damage, neither of these effects is applied for 1/2 seconds.

The Ender dragon has four distinct behaviors:

  • Guarding

In this state, the dragon circles the ring of obsidian pillars on the outside if End crystals are still present, or on the inside, if the crystals have been destroyed. She takes damage with each crystal she destroys, and the dragon’s chances of the flipping state grow.

  • Targeting

The dragon tries to choose a new target if she is fewer than 10 blocks or more than 150 blocks away from her current target. When she is harmed, she turns away and chooses a new target, which causes her to target a location just behind her.

  • Starfing

She fires a fireball at the player as soon as she gets within 64 blocks. After this state, the dragon resumes its circling.

  • Diving

The dragon dives upon the position of the target player, which was chosen at the start of the dive. Whether or not the dragon really hit the player, the dragon resumes circling after this state.

  • Perching

When the dragon is Guarding and has reached the end of the path, she has a 1 in 3 chance (7.7% to 33%) of going to the exit portal structure (approaching from the side opposing the player if possible) and landing on the highest block of the coordinates (x=0, z=0) up to (y=101).

The dragon freezes when she switches to perching if there is no block in (x=0, z=0). [Only available in Bedrock Edition] In this state, the dragon is resistant to arrows; they all catch fire and bounce off. She is likewise immune to thrown tridents in this state in Java Edition.

  • Dragon’s Breath

Unless the player is on Peaceful difficulty, the dragon roars and uses her 3-second breath attack after 1.25 seconds if they are within 20 blocks of the exit portal building, inflicting damage similar to a lingering potion of Harming. At whichever time the breath attack struck a block, a region of visible particles in the shape of a horizontal disc one block tall and 5 to 6 blocks in diameter appears where the breath attack strikes, either on the ground or floating in the air. The damaging effect zone, where the player will incur damage, is confined to a smaller area in the middle of the visible cloud, around 3 to 4 blocks in diameter.

To gain the dragon’s breath, collect the harmful effect portion of the purple clouds emitted by the dragon’s breath assault in a glass container. Each bottle of dragon’s breath collected removes one block from the breath attack’s lingering damage zone. Whether the dragon’s breath is bottled or not, the visible clouds last 3 seconds. Even a direct hit from the breath attack can be mainly or completely nullified by quickly collecting all of the damaging blocks, generally around three, before the player takes any damage.

  • Charge

She charges at players within 150 blocks if the person is not near the portal within 5 seconds of the dragon landing.

  • Take-off

The dragon will leave her perch after four consecutive breath attacks or if she is unable to locate a player within 150 blocks. She always flees in Peaceful difficulty, making melee attacks tough to land.  After this state, the dragon resumes its circling.

  • Escape

The dragon takes off and resets the damage accumulator if the total damage taken while perched surpasses 50 x 25. If she doesn’t take enough damage, the accumulator isn’t reset. After this state, the dragon resumes its circling.

Unless she can’t find it within 150 blocks or its inside blocks, the dragon will fly toward the exit portal structure before dying.

How to Respawn the Ender Dragon in Minecraft

Now that you know about Ender Dragon, let’s discuss how you can respawn it.

Items required to Respawn the Ender Dragon

  • Four End Crystals

You’ll need 7 glasses, 1 ghast tear, and 1 eye of ender to make an end crystal, which means you’ll need 28 glasses, 4 ghast tears, and 4 eyes of ender to respawn the ender dragon. An ender pearl and blazing powder are used to create the ender’s eyes. Ghast tears are extremely rare drops from ghast. Finally, sand can be used to cook glass in a furnace.

Begin by collecting ender pearls obtained from endermen. This is a somewhat uncommon drop, but if you’re attempting to resurrect the ender dragon, you should have access to the end, which will make getting the ender pearls much simpler.  Once you have your ender pearls, mix them with blazing powder to create the ender’s eye.

You’ll also require some ghast tears. Prepare your bow and arrows and travel to the nether. Attempt to catch floating ghasts so that their drops do not fall into a lava pool. Ghasts can drop both gunpowder and ghast tears, with ghast tears being the rarer of the two. Continue doing so until you have four ghast tears to deal with.

After that, all you have to do is smelt some glass. To gather the essential components for your final crystals, dig up some sand and cook it in a furnace. You can begin building your four end crystals after you have 28 glasses.

To construct an end crystal, mix seven glasses, one ghast tear, and one eye of ender. Open your Crafting Table. In the upper row of your 3×3 crafting table grid, place three Glasses in all three columns. In the middle row of your 3×3 crafting table grid, place one Eye of Ender in the middle column and two Glasses in the first and the last columns. In the lower row of your 3×3 crafting table grid, place one Ghast Tear in the middle column and two Glasses in the first and the last columns.
