They emit a blue, ghostly light of level 15, the strongest light level in the game, which can assist players in navigating the waters of Minecraft.
Redstone lamps, glowstone, lanterns, jack o’lanterns, beacons, shroomlights, and conduits are other blocks that provide a light level of 15.
Obtaining
Sea lanterns may only be picked up with a pickaxe if they are enchanted with the “Silk Touch” enchantment. It drops 2-3 prismarine crystals if the block is smashed with anything other than a silk touch pickaxe. Players can boost the amount of prismarine crystals fallen from the block from 2-3 to 5 by using the “Fortune” enchantment.
Crafting

Uses

Conduit energy

Transparent block
Because the sea lantern is a translucent block, it blocks sunlight from flowing through, causing people and mobs to suffocate within. It also blocks a Beacon’s beam, preventing the Beacon from being activated. It does not, however, prevent chests from opening or creatures (including slimes) from spawning on it. Furthermore, it does not transmit redstone signals.

Ocean Monuments
To create a marine lantern, you must first locate ocean monuments. You must first prepare certain potions (water breathing, night vision, and regeneration) before searching for ocean monuments. Go to the ocean to locate a monument buried deep beneath the waves.
