Poison’s effects are disliked by most gamers because it reduces hitpoints to half a heart. It does not kill a mob, but it brings them dangerously close to death. In PVP encounters, the arrow of poison is useful because it can provide extra damage. After being shot with an Arrow of Poison (0:11), a player or mob will receive the Poison effect, which lasts 11 seconds.

• Eight Arrows

You’ll need the following items to make an arrow: 

• 1 Stick – Wood blocks are turned into wooden planks, and wooden planks are turned into sticks.
• 1 Flint – There is a 10% possibility that a piece of flint will fall instead of a gravel block when mining gravel.
• 1 Feather – Feathers are obtained by slaughtering chickens.

Open the crafting table GUI with the 3×3 grid to construct arrows. Place a stick in the center of the grid, followed by a flint above it and a feather below it. Simply click the arrows and drag them into your inventory now that they’ve been created.

• One Lingering Potion of Poison (0:22)

To begin, make a standard poison potion, which includes one nether wart, one spider eye, and one water bottle – you’ll also need blazing powder to power a brewing stand.

You must travel to the Nether to obtain a nether wart and flame powder. Nether warts can be found in farms near nether fortresses, and blaze powder can be created from blaze rods obtained from the same fortresses’ blazes.

You must slay a spider to obtain the spider eye; we recommend using a blade enchanted with looting to improve the likelihood of monster items dropping. To prepare a Potion of Poison, place everything you need on the brewing stand, starting with the wart and then the eye.

When it’s done boiling, put the new potion of poison in the brewing stand with one red stone dust to make a potion of poison that lasts two minutes.

Then you’ll need to take this potion and repeat the process, but this time with gunpowder, which will result in a poison splash potion. Take this splash potion and combine it with one portion of the dragon’s breath in the brewing stand.

Dragon’s breath is a rare item that can only be gained by using a water bottle to collect it from the ender dragon when it unleashes its purple flames.

If you haven’t already fought the ender dragon, bring a couple of water bottles and try to fill as many as you can with the purple flames. This will allow you to finish the poison arrows recipe in Minecraft.

To produce a lingering poison potion, complete the recipe by using the dragon’s breath for gun powder. 

Directions to make an Arrow of Poison (0:11)

1. Firstly collect all the required items.

2. When you have all the items, open the Crafting Table and drag the items there in the following fashion:

• In the upper row of your 3×3 crafting table grid, place three Arrows in all three columns.
• In the middle row of your 3×3 crafting table grid, place one Lingering Potion of Poison in the middle column and two Arrows in the first and the third columns.
• In the lower row of your 3×3 crafting table grid, place three Arrows in all three columns.
